Description

This club meet second & fourth Mondays at  5 PM ET during the school year. It does not meet during AAO breaks.

The Film Club will have two meetings each month. At the first meeting, students will discuss a film. The film will be themed to a genre or topic, and a short presentation will also be given about that genre or topic. Films are PG or PG-13. (First semester films include Mean Girls (2004), The Prestige, WarGames, and Millennium Actress)

At the second meeting, students will participate in a fun activity that might be anything from a creative project to a quiz-show type game. While this is not a film production club, students will be welcome to share film-related projects, including but not limited to: short films, documentaries, photographs, musical performances, or screenplay scenes. At the end of each semester, there will be a student film festival where student work will be shown, and students will be able to receive feedback.

Who should register?

The club is open to all high school students who want to learn more about film and are comfortable discussing and collaborating in groups. No filmmaking experience is required!

Student Leader:

Hi there! I’m Rian, a high school senior and the student leader of the Film Club. You might recognize me as the film columnist for the Aim High! newsletter. As an avid film lover, I hope to make this club a fun and interesting way to learn more about film. Moreover, I’m excited to see how everyone in the club will help improve it and build a film community here at Aim. Whether you are an experienced filmmaker or a casual viewer, I hope you will consider joining the Film Club.
