Student, French 2 and French 2 Language Lab – May 13, 2026
French 2 was a combination of informative, interesting, fun, and exciting! Madame Mikell went above and beyond to make sure we understood the material with additional optional videos tailored to the students’ requests or struggles. Both the live class and homework assignments were a lot of fun (I mean REALLY fun; I’m not just saying that) and that made it easy to really become familiar with the French language.
The French 2 Language Lab was a great complement to French 2. We were able to dive deeper into the trickier grammer concepts from French 2 as well as fine-tune our pronunciation and comprehension of the language. We also memorized several french pieces and learned how to actually speak like a native with the use of french slang and modern accents.

French Lab really improved my French this year. We really delved deep into pronunciation, grammar, and specific things us students wanted to work on. The class was also a lot of fun and I can’t wait to take French 2 with Mrs. Mikell next year!

The class and teacher were very interesting and made the topic relevant. The pronunciation and practiced helped my son. He enjoyed the music competitions and loved learning new songs. He still listens to the songs all the time. He also likes the “what do you prefer” questions. He also liked that it wasn’t a stressful environment and liked the small group atmosphere which made it easier for him to interact more.

Madame Mickell is such a great teacher! She is very enthusiastic about what she is teaching and explains the topics well. If you do not understand something she will explain it to you or if you ask a question she will give you a great answer.

Madam Mikell does an excellent job of explaining new concepts, and she thoughtfully makes videos for more depth. The homework is also fun to do. Some of the greatest benefits are learning not just the French grammar, but also learning how to correctly speak the language. Things such as pronunciation, French slang, and native style (meaning things the locals do in their speech).

The teacher challenges the students while still creating a learning environment that is comfortable and encouraging. Her teaching engages a number of learning styles. The class not only provides cultural context, but also balances well grammar and conversational French.
